It was in 1967 that the Ponsford Stand first opened its doors to sports fans everywhere. Over the next 35 years the stand bore witness to some of the greatest sporting events in history, and all were held right there at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Now, as you well know, Ponsford Stand is no longer with us. It was demolished in 2002 to make room for what some would call bigger and better things.
